The Crayon Initiative takes unwanted crayons, remanufactures them, and donates them to children’s hospitals, art programs, and schools. The wax from crayons is not biodegradable and will never break down, leaving a waxy sludge in our landfills for centuries to come. The Crayon Initiative supports environmental efforts by diverting crayons from the landfills.
This year, Glebe will collect broken or unwanted crayons in classroom jars and in a bin in the lobby/front office – feel free to bring in crayons from home! As classroom jars fill, they will be emptied into the lobby/front office bin where we can watch the bin fill!
Thanks for your support and crayons!
