The “Be Your Body’s Friend Forever” (BFF) initiative promotes health and wellness in the Glebe community. Committee participants coordinate events such as: the Walk, Bike and Roll to School days, National Walk to School Day, National Bike to School Day, monthly initiative to try new foods, and more! Our BFF committee encourages our students to embrace a healthy diet and good fitness habits. In essence, we want the kids to become their body’s BFF – Best Friend Forever!

- 5 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables
- 2 Hours (or less) of Screen Time
- 1 Hour of Physical Activity

The BFF team occasionally hosts events during and after school. In previous years, the parents have visited the cafeteria during lunchtime to showcase a healthy snack. The kids love it! Volunteers are needed to help with lunchtime events.
BFF Healthy Snack Showcase – November
The BFF team (Brains, Food & Fitness) will have a table in the cafeteria on Friday, 11/8 to offer all students a healthy snack sample. We are looking for volunteers to help hand out snacks.
We promote Bike/Walk to School Day, and help support the Glebe PTA parents who organize the 5K Race and Fun Run in the spring.
5K Committee: Help organize the annual Glebe 5K and Fun Run. Tasks vary from event promotion, course set up, volunteer coordination, business sponsorship coordination, and training program coordination.
BFF Cafeteria Help: Help our BFF Nutrition Coordinator in the cafeteria on the days she brings samples to school. Encourage students to try new things and talk to them about the benefits of what is being featured. Dates and days change.
Recess and Playspaces: Help us think about ways to improve recreational equipment at Glebe. The PTA has installed the large web climber at our playground, as well as the gaga ball game area. We are always thinking about new ways to improve our playspaces.
